Women in Music Awards launch hosted by Bonang 'postponed'

Cape Town - The highly publicised Women in Music Awards launch has been postponed.

The event was to be held at the Platinum Bar in Rivonia, Sandton on Tuesday.

The launch promised to host musicians, music industry experts and various media personalities.

Azania Public released an official statement on behalf of the event founder, Thiwe Mbola, saying: "It is with sadness to announce the postponement of the Women in Music Awards launch which was to be held at the Platinum Sky in Rivonia with Ms Bonang Matheba as host."

According to the statement a new date for the event will be communicated in the future.

The postponement of the event, follows the drama that unfolded in August, after the Women in Media conference, also hosted by Bonang, was abruptly cancelled.

The event was dropped after international guests, Halle Berry and Taraji P. Henson denied involvement in the conference.
