Johannesburg- Noluthando 'Nolly' Meje may be busy but she always makes time for her "kids".
The Isidingo actress and singer, was recently announced as the host of local talent search contest, The Sing Off SA.
We're sure Nolly's busy schedule keeps her on her toes, but that hasn't stopped her from making time for those less fortunate.
Since she was young, Nolly and her family have been visiting and offering help at homes for abandoned children.
"At the Ethembeni Home for abandoned babies in Braamfontein I was very attached to this one little boy, which is so hard not to do, it's so real and intense. The boy has now moved to another home in Soweto but you become so attached to them and every time they see you, they'll get excited and call you 'mommy' or 'daddy' because they don't know what to call you," she told The Juice.
"It's only when you spend time with these children, that you realise how much it means to them. They don't need you to spend money on them or give them parcels, all they want is your time, and to have a moment with someone they can look up to,"she adds.
"It's bittersweet when they get adopted because you so happy for them, but at the same time it's heartbreaking to have to let them go, and never see them again," she adds.
In fact, the attachment is so real, Nolly says she can't help but refer to the children in the home as her "kids."
"The kids at the home are my kids. People are always confused when I say 'my kids' they like: 'what are you talking about?' but they really are, truly my kids," she says.
