Our favourite music videos of 2014

2014 saw South African artists dominate Youtube in a big way! From the first local video to go to one million views, to the ones who literally stopped traffic -  we look at the Music Video's which dominated our life in 2014.

Cassper Nyovest - Phumakim

The video wasn’t shot in the most exciting location nor does it have the most imaginative story to it. But it did start a dance craze that was copied from ministers to Itu (Itumeleng Khune). It was even the source of laughs when Cassper almost pulled his back out performing it at the Channel O Awards recently

AKA - Run Jozi

Featuring local hip hop heavy weigh K.O, Run Jozi wasn’t only one of the biggest songs of 2014, its video also caught our imagination with its black and white effect and stunning footage of Jo’burg. Oh,and the video literally stopped traffic too!

K.O Feat. Kid X– Caracara

Another massive hit in 2014 was K.O’s Caracara. It brought in the eKasi vibes and the caravelles and fancy dance moves added some spark. And there’s the little fact that it’s the first local video to get to 1 million Youtube views

Bucie Feat. Heavy K – Easy to Love

It’s a strikingly beautiful music video with a contagious beat! We could watch it all day.  After all, there’s nothing more beautiful than Bucie dancing in a forest.

Donald Feat. Big Nuz– Party for two

It’s Donald in Mascarade! It’s Donald falling in love! It’s Donald opening his heart on the grass. It’s Donald everywhere!
