Rapper explains his hit tribute to Senzo

In the days that followed the sad death of Senzo Meyiwa, his closest friends, family and fans paid tribute to the footballer. One of those tributes was from rapper Zeegee. He told the Sunday Sun about the tribute that became a national radio hit.

Prior to Senzo's death, ZeeGee wasn't known by many people outside of his hometown of eMpangeni in KZN. But since his tribute, entitled Lala Kahle Meyiwa, was played by Robert Marawa, it's become a national radio hit. Zeegee told the SundaSun: "Senzo's passing shocked me to the core and the decision to write the song came to me after my fans on Facebook suggested it".

He says he's done tributes before and intended the song to be free and available to everyone who wanted to mourn Senzo like him.
