Reason causes a frenzy over 'Reazus Christ' cover

Johannesburg - Well, this might just be one of the most controversial moves we've seen in Mzansi this week!

Reason got social media hot under the collar when he revealed a new project that could, at best, see him compared to Kanye West and, at worst, be hung for blasphemy.

He has been hinting at the project for sometime now, occasionally using the name and hashtag Reazus Christ.

Reason took to social media to post this cover of the project...

And while some applauded the cover, many people weren't half impressed!

"I bet u he was raised as Christian today he has balls to humiliate n slander the name of Jesus which actually got him to where he is! Now he too fresh huh! Why would he need to insult Jesus like this fr him to prove his point?," wrote one fan.

"Even if that's not a real depiction of Jesus, He still remains the Christ and to use His name like that is out of order. Disrespectful," another added.

"This guy honestly has no shame whatsoever. Why can't he use Allah or Bhudda or some other god. It's just some disrespect on another level. He's basically spitting in His face," wrote another.

But some just asked for time to let him explain himself.

Luckily for them, Reason took to the same platforms to explain the thought process behind the project:

"In an age where many powerful structures and bodies of control choose and dictated to the world what the truth was, the "new generations" constant urge to question their perspectives has always been a result of them discovering new ones. Moving into the future, one often finds himself in conflict with their present self, based on previous notions we had of ourselves that were based in the future. Which is now the present," Reason wrote.

"Growing up as a kid, I was given the tools and weapons to protect myself from the evils of this world. I've since gone through a roller coaster of experiences that have tainted that innocent and angelic image they were trying to protect, and it has left me with new truths. At 1pm on Friday the 24th of July, I will present to you a few new truths."

"Not YOUR truth. Not THE truth. But A truth. MY truth. Spread the word. And this image of my truth. #ReazusChristIsCummin".
