Reports: Cop asks for medical pension after Reeva death scene

Johannesburg - Warrant officer Morne du Toit is appealing to the Pretoria High Court in a bid to force the SAPS to put him on medical pension.

It comes after years of seeing mutilated bodies and people dying.

According to IOL, the final straw was on Valentines Day in 2013 when he was called the the scene of Reeva Steenkamp's death.

"I can still remember the distinct smell of death at the front door and today I can still taste blood in my mouth. The incident haunts me day and night, it controls my dreams and I can't seem to make it go away."

Oscar Pistorius is due to be released in August under correctional supervision. He has served 10 months of his five year culpable homicide sentence after the death of his girlfriend, Reeva.(Read more on that here)

It's believed that he would stay with his uncle, Arnold Pistorius.

It's a move that Reeva's mom, June has slammed. "I don't think it's a good idea to let him back into society so quickly. He shot my daughter through that door where she had no space to move or defend herself. One of the bullets blew her brains out, it is disgusting what her did to her... 10 months is not enough."
