Reports: Eda Rose allegedly beaten by ex-lover

Johannesburg - Former YFM DJ and actress Eda Rose has turned to the law for help, after allegedly being beaten-up repeatedly by her ex- boyfriend.

According to Sunday Sun, Eda has been living a nightmare for the past two and a half years with her estranged boyfriend, Kagiso Matjila, who she alleges physically abused her frequently.

"I dated him for two and a half years. He cheated on me and ended up impregnating some girl, but denied it whenever I asked him about," Eda told the paper.

"He beat me more than fifteen times and I've been quiet about it," she added.

Eda explained that she stayed in the relationship because she loved him, but he soon turned into a monster who would control her every move.

Eight months ago, Eda apparently lent Kagiso R65 000 to help him out of a tough spot, but she never saw her money again.

Everytime she asked for her money he apparently gave her the runaround until last week, when he showed up outside her house.

"I got the shock of my life when he started kicking me on the chest while we were at the gate. The gardener saved my life. If he had not come to my rescue, Kagiso was going to kill me."

Eda has since opened a case of assault with police and has secured a protection order against Kagiso.

Sandton police confirmed that a case of assault was opened with them.

As news of Eda's ordeal broke, she took to Twitter to share a thought that she hopes will inspire women who are in similar relationships.
