Reports: Jason Derulo apologises to SA fans

Johannesburg - American pop star, Jason Derulo, has reportedly apologised to South African fans for insulting them on a recent trip to South Africa.

Jason caused a Twitter storm earlier this month when during a performance at the South African of the Year Awards in Johannesburg, he asked fans if they spoke English.

"My words were directed at a specific table," he told the Daily Sun at the MTV European Music Awards this past weekend.

"I felt disrespected because they were not listening to what I was saying. I just needed to clear the air a bit. Hopefully people will understand," he added.

Jason says he enjoyed his stay in South Africa, but has been left hurt by the backlash he received after his comments.

"All in all, I want to apologise for the way I made South Africans feel over the misunderstanding," Jason says.

Do we forgive him or is it too late?
