Rhythm City 'audition scam' doing the rounds

Johannesburg- Actors and viewers have been urged to be careful of a Rhythm City audition scam that is currently doing the rounds on social media.

According to a statement released by e.tv recently, the company is not currently holding auditions.

"There is a fake email circulating on social media platforms with a notice about Rhythm City auditions.  The email is prompting people to register and pay R500 before attending auditions for Rhythm City on Saturday, 19 September at the e.tv offices. The fraudulent email is purported to be from Rhythm City actress, Amo Chidi," read the statement.

The statement went onto add that e.tv has reported the matter to the police, and are hoping to catch the culprits soon.

All auditions for the soapie is done through Rhythm City's production company, Quizzical Pictures.
