We were shocked this week when we learnt that Generations: The Legacy's viewership numbers are now down to a third of what they once were.
But the SABC says there's no need to stress, all that's needed is patience!
Talking to the New Age, SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago says the reason for the drop in numbers is simple: everyone was too busy opening presents and watching Bafana lose.
Just kidding, he didn't say it in those words but he did blame the rating slide on the festive season and on the AFCON football tournament last month.
"We cannot say this is the final ratings. Ever since Generations started in the festive month – December whereby people don't tune into soapies much, viewership ratings have been disturbed. In January ratings changed as the AFCON tournament took place therefore it had to be moved around, so it's unfair to base these viewership ratings at this point. I'm appealing to viewers to give it time when it's back on it's normal schedule," said Kaizer.
How much time, Kaizer? How much time?
