SABC 'bans' Boity

Boity is reportedly begging the SABC to take her back.

The actress, who was once a presenter on the national broadcaster, took a job at M-Net. This apparently angered the SABC. According to Sunday Sun, Boity is now begging for forgiveness.

A source told the paper that the Rockville actress was banned from the SABC after jumping ship. "Boity has apologised and tried to make the SABC understand that she’s an artist and has bills to pay, but they won’t take her back."

Boity is apparently frustrated and would like to go back to the national broadcaster.

"It's any celeb's dream to get a job at the SABC. That's how you reach the masses," the source told Sunday Sun, adding that Boity took the job at M-Net too soon. "She needed to stick around the SABC for longer before she could accept other jobs. She was regarded as one of their ambassadors, and they felt betrayed when she left. The SABC is very selfish with its talent."

Boity’s manager, Vusi Leeuw, told the paper that Boity's only sin was to look at other opportunities and now she has to pay for it.

SABC spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago, said: "The matter only applies to people who have a contract with the SABC. We don’t know how it applies to her as each case is handled differently."
