The nation is still mourning the death of Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana captain and goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa. The star's life was cut short after he was shot and killed in Vosloorus on Sunday evening. Police are still investigating the murder and no arrests have been made yet.
Fans, soccer players and family members have shared their feeling about the star's death. One person who is yet to make a comment is Senzo's wife. Although the soccer player was involved with singer Kelly Khumalo, he was legally married to Mandisa Mkhize. The two, who have two children together, reportedly met in 2005.
According to a 2012 New Age newspaper article, Mandisa described Senzo as a pillar of strength and said he had taught her never to give up. "Even when things were not going his way, he kept on telling me that he will fight on," she said.
