Senzo Meyiwa will be laid to rest in Durban on Saturday. The Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana captain was murdered in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg, on Sunday evening. He was visiting Kelly Khumalo’s home at the time of his killing.
Senzo's funeral service will be held at Durban's Moses Mabhida stadium, which has a capacity of 85 000. The venue will accommodate the thousands of South Africans who are expected to attend the service. Earlier today, President Jacob Zuma declared a provincial funeral for fallen soccer star. It was also announced that the national flag will be flown at half-mast for the funeral.
The funeral service will start at 8am until 3pm. eNCA announced that it will broadcast Senzo's funeral service. The 24-hour news channel is on DSTV channel 403.
SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago told The Juice that they'll be crossing over to the all three funerals of the SA sports. These include Senzo Meyiwa, Mbulaeni Mulaudzi and Phindile Mwelase.
