As the nation still struggles to come to grips with Senzo Meyiwa's death, it has emerged that his soccer jersey will be retired.
The Bafana Bafana captain and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper was tragically killed in a botched robbery on Sunday night. In honour of the slain soccer star, Orlando Pirates chairperson, Irvin Khoza, has revealed that Senzo can never be replaced and so his jersey will never be worn by anyone again.
The goalkeeper's number one jersey will be retired. "I don’t think anyone can replace Senzo and his jersey will never be worn by anyone else again," Khoza confirmed.
Meanwhile, Senzo's family have announced that his funeral service will take place at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi this Saturday.
Police are currently investigating the matter but no arrests have been made yet.
