Simba Mhere trial postponed to October

Johannesburg - The trial of 21-year-old driver, Preshalin Naidoo, who crashed into TV presenter Simba Mhere's car on 31 January, killing him and his friend, Kady-Shay O' Bryan, has been postponed until October.

The 21-year-old made a brief appearance in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday morning.

The trial was postponed to give his defence team time to study the accident report submitted by the reconstruction officer.

Preshalin faces two counts of culpable homicide after his VW Polo GTI crashed into Simba's vehicle on William Nicol offramp from the N1 highway.

At the time of the accident, Preshalin faced allegations of being intoxicated, but police confirmed blood tests were not done at the scene of the accident.
