Simphiwe Ngema opens up about her Muvhango exit

Johannesburg - Muvhango actress, Simphiwe Ngema broke many hearts this week when it was reported that she had left the popular soapie.

Fans have come to know and love Simphiwe in her role as Thuli in Muvhango. But Simphiwe says it's time for a change.

"As they say, all good things have to come to an end. I had a great time there and worked with amazing people, but it was time. God has bigger plans for me, and I felt it was time for me to leave and to grow," she told Metro FM's Mo Flava on Thursday.

Earlier this week, The Juice reported how Simphiwe's character had apparently been written out of the script (Read more about that here).

Simphiwe says that even though she was planning to stay with the soapie for about 5 years, she often felt the pressure of being an actor in an industry that could discard you at any moment.

"The industry is very unpredictable. A producer can wake up one morning and decide they don't want your character anymore, and you have to have something to fall back on," she says.

Although Simphiwe will now focus her time on her "other projects", she says acting is her first love and something she would love to continue in the future.

We're sure it won't be long before we see her on our screens again! Until then we'll just be watching the telly, going...
