Sophie confirms Kenny relationship

Johannesburg- Former Generations star Sophie Ndaba found herself making headlines this week as news of Kenny Kunene's upcoming tell-all book was leaked.

It was reported that Kenny's soon-to-be launched autobiography includes details of his relationship with Sophie more than seven years ago.

While there isn't much more information, it's rumoured that not only will he detail their relationship, but he also insists that he was the one to end things because Sophie was 'toxic.'

News of the relationship has shocked many, not least Sophie, who spoke to The Juice about the revelation...

"I'm hurt and disappointed"

Sophie confirmed to The Juice that she dated Kenny more than seven years ago. "When I dated Kenny seven years ago, he was not a public figure and was a completely different person to the man he has transformed into today."

The mother-of-one added that contrary to reports, she was the one who ended things with Kenny after she found out that he had not divorced his wife.

Sophie says she has never spoken about the relationship because she saw no reason to damage his reputation in the public eye when he became a household name.

The actress also expressed disappointment in 'The Sushi King's' actions, which she believes is just a way to market and boost sales of his book.

"The man I once knew and dated was completely different to the 'Kenny Kunene' of today. I am disappointed that he finds it appropriate to dig up the past to benefit his celebrity profile. I've accepted it as one of life's painful lessons I have to endure," she explained. "It's surprising that a grown man would resort to exhuming a relationship that ended so many years ago to boost sales and interest in his book," she went on to add.

Despite being disappointed and hurt by Kenny's actions, Sophie says she hopes he finds peace in his life because it's definitely something that "eludes" him.
