Steve responds to court ruling. And he ain't happy

Earlier today, a protection order against comedian Conrad Koch and his puppet Chester Missing was lifted.

Steve Hofmeyr obtained the protection order after Conrad publicly rebuked Steve for his controversial Tweet.“Sorry to offend but in my book blacks were the architects of apartheid. Go figure.”

Steve's lawyer says he suffered unduly as a result of Conrad's 'attacks' on him. But the judge failed to see this and lifted the protection order.

Here's Steve's full response as put out on his Facebook page.

We accept the court's judgement. Thank you.

But I do believe it an ill-considered judgement declaring open-season on everyone. The magistrate first gagged those in the court, then questioned the court's gag-order of Koch (who gets sponsors to gag me!), then the court gagged me. But it's an order everybody: say and write what you want, when you want to whom you want. Circulate company branches and their phone numbers. Punish citizens as if you have authority. You do! Circulate fabrications and lies. Go right ahead. It's a free for all. (Did we mention this excludes only Steve Hofmeyr) Either there is a degree of restraint on freedom of expression or you can say absolutely anything you like. This result means only one thing. HARRASS AWAY. SLANDER AWAY especially if it means KILLING OFF SOMEBODY'S INCOME
