Support for Joost van der Westhuizen as he enters Twickenham

Johannesburg - Former Springbok player Joost van der Westhuizen got a round of applause from fans waiting outside Twickenham on Saturday as he entered the stadium.

The rugby legend was wearing a Bok blazer, and was being pushed in a wheelchair while his neck was supported in a brace.

He was part of the victorious 1995 squad who beat News Zealand in the Rugby World Cup final in Johannesburg's Ellis Park.

As part of the celebrations, members of that team were in London for the celebration.

Sports24 reports that the former players ran through the streets of London in a lead-up to the semi-final between SA and New Zealand.

As Joost entered the stadium, our eyewitnesses tell us the crowd started clapping, all clamouring to take pictures of him.
