The motivation behind Moneoa's gym addiction

Johannesburg - Songbird Moneoa is starting to be known as much for her intense workout routines than for her silky smooth vocals.

But how does she keep motivated to go while the rest of us have long packed away our gym bags in the top of the cupboard and hit the garage for a chocolate bar?

Moneoa says it all comes from understanding her success is not just made up of only her voice , but rather her whole body

"A lot of people think I'm training for the perfect summer body. Yes, naturally I wouldn't mind one, but that's not what I think of when I push my exhausted self to complete gut-wrenching exercises," she says.

"I realized that high school was a long time ago. I'm not getting any younger and my metabolism is slowing down by the day. I want to be the best at what I do and as much as I am pleased with the accomplishments my voice has afforded me. My voice alone will not sustain me forever or get me to the places I know I'm capable of reaching", she adds.

"In this industry, there's always something and someone new. We need to place ourselves intelligently so that the prospects and perspectives that make you stand out are varied. All round performance and image is also an aspect that will influence my craft and I must be fit to sustain all stage movements and simultaneously hold my notes accurately. I must be open-minded to maintain authenticity," she says.

Lucky for us who want to actually just get a summer body, Moneoa says the steps are easy..."Plan, Strategize and Get fit".
