Thembi Seete on keeping her life private

A lot of celebrities can learn a thing or two about keeping their lives private from Thembi Seete.

The singer, actress and TV presenter burst onto the scene as a teenager, who was part of legendary music group Boom Shaka. She has since had success as a solo artist and appeared on several TV dramas shows. But there's one thing about Thembi that her fans might never get to really experience - her private life.

Thembi, who was recently on CliffCentral, revealed that she's not really party of the "noise and rush" of the industry.  "I'm here to do my work, I love doing what I do and I'm very quiet. I love keeping to myself. I'm a loner... I go home and close myself in and just be me."

She said she has learnt to separate Thembi the performer from Thembi the person. She added: "I am Thembi at home and I can be Thembi Seete on stage and on TV. So, that really helps."

It is no surprise that she's managed to keep a low profile because she's been famous since her teens. She said a lot happened when she was part of Boom Shaka, even adding that things were overwhelming at times.

"Within that journey I've learnt that this is what you do, don't give away your private life a bit too much. At least have that little corner. Call it yours and don't share it with nobody. When your're on stage and TV you are watched by millions  and millions of people, and here you are sharing your private life. What are you left with? Nothing! Just try to keep other things private and to yourself and you will have a normal life. It's important," she said.
