Toya DeLazy: 'I'll sell albums out of my boot if needed'

Johannesburg - Toya DeLazy has come out fighting after music stores refused to stock or promote her album enough and has told her fans that she will do anything to get them their music, even if it means selling discs out of her car.

Toya says she was frustrated by the fact that record stores were not punting or stocking her album enough and so last week decided to leak her entire album onto Soundcloud. The album was removed by Soundcloud a few days later.

In an interview with Metro FM's Mo Flava on Monday morning, Toya explains that there still hasn't been a breakthrough in getting her music to her fans.

"Unfortunately I haven't heard anything new from stores or my label. It's as stagnant as if I hadn't dropped the album online for free. I'm going to be hands on. I've got albums in my car. I'll sell them out of the boot at my gigs if I have to. We gonna make this work," she says.

"We going to meet up with the team, even Sony and see if we can figure this out," she adds

"At the end of the day the day it's all about the fans and if they can't even heard you you stagnant, man, and there's nothing more frustrating as an artist than being stagnant," she says.
