Toya Delazy: "Music allows me to escape and be myself"

Pop princess Toya Delazy finally dropped a new album last year -  one she says is a lot more personal than anything she's done before.

When The Juice caught up with Toya she told us her new album is all about being a bit more true to herself, something she hopes her fans will feel and try to emulate.

“In essence, Dew Drop was little Toya trying to break through (in the industry) while Ascension is about inner self. Like nothing is important unless it comes from inside you,” she says.

Toya says a lot of the motivation and energy she gets to be herself is from her fans. “It’s from my audience.  I feel the energy and the excitement from my fans and its fun. Especially when you get to a gig and everyone is amped and you can’t help but feel pumped! It’s just me bouncing off the crowd”.
