Johannesburg - The SA Hip Hop Awards just can't catch a break!
Not only has it been accused of being sexist and "dick riders" by the outspoken Ntsiki Mazwai (read her comments here) it's also had to deal with the wrath of musician, Toya Delazy.
Taking to Twitter shortly after the nominees were announced, Toya vented about the obvious lack of female MCs on the list.
#SAHHAS disgust me! females basically don't exist in South African hip hop ? how are yall not recognizing chicks and only nominate 2 !?

#SAHHA2015 y'all gross me out with your sexism. Turning Hip Hop into a SAUSAGE festival. You should be ashamed !

#SAHHA2015 HOW CAN YOU NOT RECOGNIZE THE LIKES OF @Moonchild_SA |@nonkulululu | DK | Genius | @qba100 | @BusiswaNgoku FEMALE HIPHOP IS REAL

What followed was a tit-for-tat Twar between her and one of the award's organisers, Rashid Kay. With Toya first broadcasting his Tweets to her followers and then blocking him. Later, she went on to Metro FM to air her grievances. The event organisers claim that the lack of female MCs on the list is because they did not submit their music for consideration.
What's that they say about hell hath no fury like a female rappers scorned?
