Toya on Cassper: "He's really humble"

One of the biggest surprise collaborations of 2014 was rapper Cassper Nyovest teaming up with pop-soul queen Toya De Lazy for the upcoming second single, My City, Toya's new album, Ascension.

It’s one of our favourite tracks on Toya's new album and promises to be a big hit in 2015. The Juice got to speak to Toya about how the collab happened.

“I was looking for a collaborator and I asked my fans on Facebook and Cassper’s name kept coming up," she says. "So I asked my team and they approached him to ask him if he was keen,” she adds.

Cassper was super keen and told Toya’s team that he had wanted to work with her for years. “Apparently Cassper had wanted to work with me for years. Which was super cool. It worked out’’ she laughs.

Toya says the one thing that blew her away about Cassper was how humble he was and how he didn’t drink beer.

Guess they didn’t go for celebratory drinks after the collab then?
