If you didn’t know before, then now you know- Toya Delazy has politics in her blood!
The Pump It Up star is the granddaughter of famous politician, Mangosuthu Buthelezi. But she tells The Juice that she has no intention of trading a career in music for one in politics.
“I thought about maybe going into politics or joining the debate team, but then I kind of realised that it wasn’t for me. One guy in politics in the family is enough really,” she says.
Even though she never followed his footsteps, Toya says her granddad still approves of her career choice and even listens to her music.
“Yeah he’s chuffed. He’s even been to my shows once or twice. Which is pretty cool, but you can see he prefers the whole opera vibes more. I guess he hasn’t really been to a proper Turnt Up yet,” she laughs.
We not so sure, Toya, we’ve seen Baba Buthelezi turnt up quite hard at the ralleys!
