Trevor's gran sets the record straight on 'cousin's death'

Johannesburg- Trevor Noah's grandmother has rubbished weekend reports which claimed that a relative was brutally murdered.

Sunday Times reported that Trevor's cousin was found burnt to death in a veld in KwaZulu-Natal and had also been stabbed multiple times.

The paper claimed that Trevor's gran, Nomalizo Noah, confirmed the death. However, on Sunday evening Trevor took to Twitter to deny the reports.

The comedian labelled the article as "crafty journalism," adding, that he and his family had no knowledge of the incident.

In an interview with News24 on Monday afternoon his gran backed up Trevor's statements. "He's telling the truth, even I don't know that person. I was surprised. They are just creating stories out of - [nowhere] now they want to use Trevor and I on their front pages? It's silly," she said.

Nomalizo urged the media to give her some space as Trevor's fame is his and she wants no part in it.
