Tumi Molekane and Slikour weigh in on the Black Coffee tweet

Johannesburg- Hip-hop veterans Tumi Molekane and Slikour have added their voice to the feud between AKA and DJ Black Coffee.

It's been a week of mud-slinging between the two stars, which all started after Black Coffee seemed to have thrown shade at local hip-hop stars. (Read that story here)

This obviously didn't sit well with AKA, who charged at him for the comments.

Black Coffee has since committed to starting a hip-hop project to provide a platform for up-an-coming artists. (Read that story here)

It's taken a few days but Tumi Molekane has expressed his views over the matter.  A few days after the twar took place Loyisa Gola got into a debate with AKA about how a brand manager from Vuzu can talk about rap music on The Hustle, yet Black Coffee shouldn't.

AKA explained that on the show the guest judges are also there to give advice and insight, which may help the contestant in his or her career, as compared to "slamming local hip hop in favour of US hip-hop."

Hip-hop veteran Tumi stepped in and also backed AKA labelling Black Coffee's tweet as "patronising."

During an interview on Power FM Slikour also defended AKA's response to the renowned house DJ. Slikour said that he believes that AKA was in his "rightful position" to respond to Black Coffee.

Adding, that Black Coffee was generalising about twars because it is a global problem.

"It's a global thing, it's not only something that started in South Africa. I think it's also fair to say that AKA had the best albums in SA last year, depute the attitude. I feel like Black wasn't really aware of how he was dividing us which was unnecessary and inappropriate in my opinion," he said.
