What's to blame for Zahara's decline?

She was once the darling of radio and screen- an ambassador for Nedbank and a multi award winning songstress. But nowadays Zahara apparently cuts a very different figure. What's to blame?

Sources speaking to Move this week all think they know the reason for the star's apparent decline.

Her attitude

*Not actually Zahara, duh.

Sources close to the star say that the fame has gotten to Zahara's head and she regularly walks around thinking she's better than everyone else.

Of a recent incident, a musician in East London says that he arrived at a popular drinking spot and was told that Zahara had been there and caused drama.

"Apparently, she was acting big and disrespecting other people there," the musician says.

Her love for the bottle

Once the image of a decent and humble born-again young woman who always had respect for others, the violent death of her brother seems to have disturbed Zahara and pushed her towards the bottle.

There are constant rumours of the star behaving badly and almost all of them relate in some way to her drinking.

She's in love

Many of her critics blame her decline in popularity on her relationship with Umhlobo Wenene FM's DJ Amaza.

They say that ever since she hooked up with the popular DJ, her mind has been on him and not the music.

Amaza however denies this. He told Move : "She loves her work. She will never neglect it because of our relationship".

"Yes, she does visit me frequently and we spend a lot of time together, but she has never missed a gig because she was spending time with me." he adds

But no matter the reason, Zahara is planning to put it behind her and focus once again on the music.
