Johannesburg - Hit rapper, Cassper Nyovest has decided to withdraw from the MTV European Music Awards.
On Tuesday, MTV announced their nominees for the Best African act at the MTV European Music Awards, to be held in Milan, Italy, next year.
While AKA made the list (read more about his nomination here) Cassper Nyovest was announced as one of the African acts who would have to gain votes to earn a space on the Best African Artist nomination list, along side AKA.
But Cassper believes that the fact that he will have to get his fans to vote for him to even make this list, tells him that it may not be his time yet.
"MTV just announced that I'm one of the people who have to get people to vote for them to be nominated for Best African Act. As I sit here and I think, it may be such an honor & an opportunity, but if I'm not nominated with all the other nominees that don't HAVE 2 vote then maybe I don't deserve it," he wrote to his fans on his Instagram.
"In that case, I have decided to stay out of this one. Good luck to all of the nominees," he added.
Cassper says he will instead focus his attention on gathering support to help him fill up the dome at the end of October.
We think that would be a bigger achievement than making a nomination list, Cassper!
