Winnie Khumalo could return to TV.... but not now and NOT as a sangoma

Veteran gospel singer, Winnie Khumalo has played the role of a sangoma on TV more than once but she says if she ever returns to our screens it probably won't be as a sangoma.

Talking to Winnie recently, The Juice learnt that even though she cut her acting teeth playing a sangoma on Muvhango, she says it's a role she hasn't been able to shake off.

"I don't know why? Maybe there's something following me!" she laughs.

Everytime I get a phone call they say 'Winnie come, we have a part for you'- its a sangoma!," the singer who also played the role of a sangoma in Ekasi Stories says, laughing.

Still, acting is something Winnie says she loves but she just cannot fit into her busy schedule at the moment.

"Well I love acting but sometimes we singers get too busy and if you act you have to read scripts. If I'm free I would do it but not if I'm busy," she says.

And she sure is busy! Winnie says she's currently working on a new album that will see her shed her gospel roots in favour of a more dance feel.
