Okay, we get it. Everyone wants to be a brand. So, we see no problem with artists venturing out into business. But what happens when an artist's merchandise is considered as bit "too expensive" by fans? That's the reaction Cassper Nyovest received from some of his fans after announcing that his "Cassper Nyovest" branded cap is available for R350.
Some of his supporters seemed disappointed. One wrote on Instagram: "I'd rather wait for those guys base jozi ukuthi bayenze (to make) iDuplicate, I'll probably get it for like R50." Another fan said although he likes his music, the R350 cap thing is not on. "You should be giving these away for promoting your album. The cost of any product should be the cost of production plus mark up and the price should be less than R100 until you team up with one of the big brands then you can push your price. Simply economics."
Most pointed out that R350 for a cap is a ridiculous amount of cash There were a few who encouraged others to support Cassper!
Listen up, it's a lot, but if you're a fan, you're a fan...
