Xolile Tshabalala says she'll never return to soapies

Some people were introduced to Xolile Tshabalala when she played Julia Motene on Generations. Although she was a villain, she quickly stole the hearts of many. But the after leaving the show she somehow disappeared from our TV screens.

She made her TV comeback as a teacher on Rise, a movie which aired on Mzansi Magic. The film received a lot of love on social media and most believed that it depicted what really happens in township schools.

Speaking to Move magazine about the movie, the actress said: "I love anything that has to do with education, change and development for our continent. I hoped this movie would inspire South Africans and from the reaction on social media, I'd say they were inspired." She added that she chooses roles that will fulfill her and make a difference.

Some people have apparently suggested that Xolile would be returning to Generations: The Legacy, but the actress quickly shot down those rumours. She told the mag she's put that life behind her. "Being on a soapie means you have a stable income. But my  dreams are different now. I want to do work that puts Africa in a better life and inspires young Africans."
