Zurich police block Carol from Ballon D'or awards

It's supposed to be the most glamorous night in football. The one night the stars of world football trade their mucky football kits for swanky suits and ties for the "Oscars" of the sport.

But for poor local football pundit, Carol Tshabalala, it was spent watching the Ballon D'or awards at home after she was denied entry into Zurich, where the awards were being held.

Carol, who always travels to international football events and awards representing South Africa, was invited to the event and had been excited about it for sometime (even posting a selfie on her way to the awards) but when she arrived in Switzerland for the awards she was turned away by Swiss police who said her visa had expired

"Can you say Death right now? Arrived in Zurich and this happened.Visa expired yesterday!!," she tweeted.  "Honestly thought it was the 17th,  authorities didn't notice in Jozi either, "she vented, "Ta rover for my Ballon D'or experience, headed back home. Mxm".

Shame, Carol, sounds like you scored an own goal with this one.
