Johannesburg - Radio personality Darren Scott is in hospital recovering after undergoing a second surgery in as many months to remove melanoma.
In October, he underwent a 5-hour surgery to remove melanoma from his upper left lobe on his left lung.
After a successful operation, Darren went in for a routine check-up only to be told that doctors were concerned about his right lung. He was admitted into hospital last week, but has revealed that the 'pesky node' is benign.
He posted this message on his Facebook page.
"Final update from Milpark Hospital! Still here but now just recovery time after successful second operation. Should be home by middle of this week, rest for remainder of year and back in the saddle mid Jan 2016! Just want to take this opportunity of thanking you for ALL your messages of support, both here on FB and just people in general who have come up to me at the hospital to pass on well-wishes. You rock gang! Also the doctors, nurses and staff at Milpark hospital whose care and compassion cannot be compared! Absolutely fantastic people and always in good hands and always a smile in every ward and passage! Thank you! Having said that I hope I only ever see any of you again OUTSIDE of this ... Or any hospital environment!!!! Oh, and thanks for the wine gang! It was almost more than enough ......"
Hurrah!
