EXCLUSIVE: Reeva's best friend talks after Oscar ruling

Johannesburg - One of Reeva Steenkamp's best friends, Gina Myers has spoken out about the ruling made by the Supreme Court of Appeal in the Oscar Pistorius matter.

This comes after the SCA on Thursday morning replaced Pistorius’s culpable homicide conviction with murder, ruling that he should have foreseen the deadly impact his four bullets would have in a small bathroom.

Reeva, who stayed with the Myers family for 6 months before she was shot and killed on 14 February 2013, had been friends with Gina Myers for six years prior to her death.

Speaking on the ruling, Gina told The Juice exclusively that "nothing will bring Reeva back".

"Nothing can justify that she is gone. But I can finally say that Reeva has made this a big day for South Africa and the world. For women, and of course, for her. I hope this has brought so much needed peace for the Steenkamp family and all her friends. I know that we can all speak her name with love and honour. And forever."
