Johannesburg- Sport's Minister Fikile Mbalula is contemplating legal action against a satire 'news' website for circulating a fake picture of a man's penis which is alleged to have been posted on the minister's Twitter page.
The satire news site claimed that the minister accidentally posted the snap of his penis onto his timeline, while he was allegedly sending a direct message to socialite, Pulane Lenkoe.
The site further claimed that it screengrabbed the tweet before Fikile deleted it.
The picture, which began circulating on social media on Friday afternoon, went viral within minutes.
Shortly after it surfaced, the minister took to Twitter explaining that the picture of the penis said to be his, is in fact, not his.
The minister claimed that the picture is fake and has been photoshopped to look like his Twitter account.
"My legal team is looking into this matter. I think they have crossed the boundaries. I asked my legal team to look into this because I don't want to make a meal over something that is immaterial," Fikile told Sunday World.
Fikile explained that the fake tweet aimed to portray him as pervert in the eyes of his followers.
"I think people are resorting to unscrupulous means to try to demonise and remove me out of Twitter because they are jealous of me," he added.
It has come to my attention that there is a photoshopped screenshot of a tweet on "SatireNews" that never came from this account. It's false

After my account hacking, they're now using "satire" accounts with photoshopped falsified screenshots. pic.twitter.com/N4BGaBbjLX
