Five reasons to be excited for 2016

Johannesburg – 2015 was a great year for SA music, with some of the country’s biggest stars shining both here and abroad.

But 2016 promises to be a bumper year with so much to look forward to.

We might not have consulted the bones to see what the future holds, but we do know we’re excited to see these things happen in the year ahead.

A Levels follow up

AKA took his music and fame to a new level last year when he released his hit album, Levels. It’s hard to believe that the rapper is only on his second album, but he has hinted that his next album is well on its way to being completed and should be out in 2015. YAY!

Black Coffee at Coachella

You know you’re “super big” when you’re playing at festivals overseas. But you know you’re “Black Coffee big” when you are able to score an invite at the prestigious Coachella music festival. Black Coffee is set to take to the Coachella stage next year, and with the world’s A-Listers and trend setters watching, there’s no doubt Coffee is set to do massive things in 2016.

2016 looks to be the year of the stadium, with musicians Black Coffee, Cassper Nyovest and possibly Mi Casa, among those planning to host stadium shows. DJ Black Coffee has already revealed that he will host his show at the 90,000 seater FNB Stadium on Freedom Day next year. SA music is about to get MEGA!

Sonia and Menzi return on screen together

Not since the glory days of Generations have fans been treated to the sight of actors Sonia Sedibe and Menzi Ngubane on screen together. Fans have already started seeing the actress on their screens, but in 2016 it is set to be a more regular fixture with the pair both on the set of e.tv’s hit telenovela Gold Diggers.
