Flabba one year on: 'Be the light of our moves'

Johannesburg - On 9 March 2015 friends, family and fans woke to the news that Nkululeko 'Flabba' Habedi had died. While South Africa mourned, it was the circumstances around his death that caused the most shock.

His girlfriend, Sindi Manqele stabbed him. In her murder trial, she said she acted in self-defence, but a judge found her guilty of murder.

While his family pick up the pieces, one of his friends, Slikour, has paid tribute to the brother he lost.

"Live to give, live for love, live to lead, love your family, stay true to you and see everything for what it is and not what you'd like it to be.Some woke up without a friend, a brother,a father or uncle but an immortal memory of a spirit that touched each one of them with one or all of these qualities."

Slicker says that he believes that justice has been served, but despite the verdict, nothing will bring his friend back.

Meanwhile sentencing procedures against Sindi Manqele are set to get underway in the Palm Ridge Magistrates court this morning.
