iFani's charity drive marred by misunderstanding

Johannesburg- iFani is at the forefront of drumming up support from other musicians for the Wits SRC's Access campaign, which aims to raise R10 million for students with outstanding debt.

After donating R50K himself, iFani started a Twitter trend called #WillYouRespond to challenge other musicians to heed the call.

The first musician to respond to iFani's challenge was Cassper Nyovest, who matched iFani's donation of R50K.

However, iFani's efforts to raise support for the campaign went wrong when Twitter users, including DJ Shimza, lashed out at him for apparently calling out musicians who couldn't donate to the campaign.

It seems like the misunderstanding started when iFani tweeted a response, which he got from the Major League gang.

Twitter users dug into iFani for exposing musicians who could not accept the challenge for their own personal reasons.

iFani has since deleted the tweet, which caused the commotion and has apologised to Major League publicly and personally.

Here's what went down...
