Emtee explains THOSE strange Twitter outbursts

Johannesburg - From asking fans to not call him "hommie" or "fam", to getting Twitter fire for calling racism "throwback," Emtee seems to always find a way to get Twitter all riled up.

The Roll Up rapper regularly finds himself on the Trending list for his outspoken comments on Twitter, leading some followers to call for him to follow in the footsteps of fellow rapper AKA, who for a brief period last year handed his social media account over to his management (more on that here).

But when The Juice caught up with Emtee recently, he assured us that will never happen.

"I don't feel like my management should ever take over my Twitter, because it will then no longer be real," he tells us. "It will no longer be Emtee, the real me, tweeting about the things that I'm going through."

He explains that his social media account is an expansion of himself and his thoughts, and if people want a fight they should prepare for one.

"I'm someone who's not really social in real life. I'm not the kind of person who will walk up to someone and go 'Hey! This is what I do'. I would rather sit and let people come to me if they are interested. What you see on Twitter is the real me. I have this alter ego and Twitter is the only place where I really let it free," he says.

"A lot of people are not real on social media, especially on Twitter, and so I'm trying my best to be as real as I can. The only thing that separates me from everyone else is that I make good music, but at the end of the day I'm still human," he adds.

Emtee says there will always be people who are negative online and he says will always call them out for it, especially if they are rude towards him.

"I will treat you the way you treat me," he adds. "If you hate me, I will hate you. If you love me I will love you back."

Lesson of the day: Don't mess with Emtee on Twitter, k?
