Nomuzi and Cashtime keep it clean after shock split

Johannesburg - The music industry was left in shock this week when it was announced that Skhanda Queen, Nomuzi Mabena, had been booted from her record label, Cashtime Life.

The record label, co-owned by rapper K.O, has always held Nomuzi as one of their crown jewels. But on Wednesday it revealed that the label and Nomuzi "no longer shared the same vision" and that they had parted ways (more on that here).

Soon the internet was ablaze with the news as fans speculated as to what might have caused the split.

And while Nomuzi has been silent on the issue, her management has played the diplomatic card and thanked Cashtime for their support, while suggesting that Nomuzi may have outgrown the label and its management.

Talking to Zkhiphani this week, Nomuzi's publicist at DNA Brand Architects, Jay Badza says: "Ms Nomuzi Mabena has enjoyed a very healthy and successful relationship with the record label Cashtime Life as part of her 2016 business strategy. Ms Mabena has opted to explore other relationships as her brand management requirements have evolved. In order to broaden her offering and grow her brand Ms Mabena will be working with specialist agencies in television, music and fashion."

When The Juice tried to contact Cashtime Life for more information, we were told that the company has nothing more to add on the matter and didn't wish to comment any further.

So, if you were looking for shade, you're better off buying yourself a tree. Sorry...
