Johannesburg- It's been five days since Ntombi Mzolo's one-week-old son underwent heart surgery.
Ntombi's son was diagnosed with a rare heart condition called Hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a condition where the heart has not developed properly and can't pump blood to the rest of the body effectively.
The Shikisha presenter's miracle baby was wheeled into theatre on Monday for surgery in an attempt to save his life. The surgery is known to have a very low success rate, with only 2/10 babies known to survive.
But Ntombi's lil man is exceeding everyone's expectations.
"Just letting you know that our prayers are showing doctors flames. #DunamisAsandeSizwejrMzolo had a major heart surgery on Monday and everyone is shocked cause he came out of surgery without a heart and lung support machine or life support for that matter and he was 7 days old. They are even telling me that my child is a miracle. He is still in ICU but is recovering beyond expectation. He is recovering miraculously #Godisfaithful," Ntombi wrote.
