Pearl Thusi on Bonang: I'm not going to be bullied

Johannesburg- TV and radio personality Pearl Thusi has for the first time spoken out about her feelings towards Bonang Matheba.

This comes hot-on-the heels of a social media controversy, which saw Pearl being attacked by Twitter users for allegedly making comments about Bonang on Metro FM. Pearl later denied the claims, explaining that she did not say anything about Bonang or AKA. (Read that story here

This is not the first time that Pearl has come under fire on social media for allegedly making comments about Bonang and voicing her opinions.

Now during a tell-all interview with Gareth Cliff on Cliffcentral.com, Pearl has spoken out about her feelings towards Bonang and the reason she never minces her words.

"I believe you're human and have to be real to some extent. I also believe that people can see through the bullshit, you can't fool people all of the time, maybe some of the time, but not all the time," Pearl explained.

Pearl added that she feels it's important to stand up for your beliefs.

AKA's name was brought into the conversation, which led to Gareth questioning Pearl about her relationship with the rapper.

"I don't have a problem with AKA"

"I've always been very complimentary towards AKA. What's going on between him and I right now, I don't even understand," Pearl explained.

Pearl added that she believes that people like to take on the beef of the people they're dating, and that's what is happening in this situation.

"I think he's supporting his girl and that means being against me, because I'm not exactly friends with her," Pearl explained.

"I'm not going to be bullied by someone who thinks they're better than me"

Pearl went on to explain the reason for the way she feels towards Bonang.

"It's a thing of finding out the stuff a person has been saying or doing without you even knowing. You know like a 'snake in a grass' type thing, where you're like 'Hawu I thought we were indifferent to each other,'" Pearl said.

Pearl added that there have been many things that have happened to many other people in the industry, but they're just too afraid to speak out.

"When you find out stuff from people who maybe shouldn't have told you in the first place, you're like 'Wow! You've dogged me so hard, then you've dogged my friend. And then you've done this and this, to so many people,'" she added.

"But I'm not like that. I'm not going to be bullied by someone who thinks they're better than me or are gonna put me down in order to make themselves feel better. It's fine, if I go down, I'll go down but I'm not going down without a fight," she said.

The TV star explained that when she found out what was being said about her behind her back, she was upset because to her knowledge she and Bonang were cool, especially when they were hanging out in London recently.

Pearl also remains undeterred by the social media backlash she's been getting.

"I've gone up against the B-hive, I don't understand what Bonang's fans think they can do to me," she said.
