Johannesburg - Sunday World is reporting that actor, Phila Mazibuko almost spent the night behind bars after allegedly being caught on camera stealing goods from a petrol station.

The newspaper reports that Phila was at a Shell garage in Midrand when staff at the filling station called police.

It's reported that the actor was caught taking a magazine and sweets worth R35 without paying.

A video of Phila being questioned by police has emerged. In it, officers make comments about him being famous and wanting to get away with the crime. The video also shows Phila trying to get the person holding the camera to put it down.

Sunday World is reporting that the owner of the petrol station was then called in and asked for the matter to be dropped. "I just thought it would be unnecessary for us to go to court over a small matter we could resolve as individuals," said Ofentse Moabi.

However, Phila claims that he is the one who called the police after the treatment that he received at the petrol station, denying that he stole anything.
