Johannesburg- The fatal accident involving Generations:The Legacy actor Rapulana Seiphemo continues to be plagued by major questions and widespread speculation.
The car crash, which occurred on the N14 near Diepsloot on 14 February, claimed the lives of three people and left two others, including Rapulana critically injured.
While Rapulana has been discharged from hospital and is recovering at home, the exact circumstances around the incident remain a mystery.
Various reports have since emerged claiming that the car crash was allegedly caused due to a hijacking that went wrong. Police officials have confirmed that one of the surviving passengers from Rapulana's car has been under heavy police guard, but would not be drawn into divulging any details surrounding the accident.
Now Daily Sun is reporting that an insider close to the investigation has shed light on what transpired that night.
According to the insider, Rapulana was apparently hijacked by two suspects at a hijacking hotspot near Diepsloot on the N14.
It's believed that the actor resisted as much as possible, however the man in the front was allegedly armed. "They made Rapulana drive towards Pretoria. The thug at the back wasn't listening to the instructions of the man in the front. It appears he panicked because he jumped out of the vehicle while it was moving," the insider told the paper.
The insider explained that the finer details of how the two cars crashed is still sketchy.
Another insider allegedly told the paper that the man who has been under police guard, was apparently found at another Gauteng hospital.
The insider also claims that the investigating officer acted on a tip-off, which led them to the suspect who claimed to be involved in an accident in Laudium.
However, the suspects claims did not check out.
When contacted by The Juice police spokesman Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng declined to comment on the speculation, as the matter is still being investigated.
