Johannesburg- The SABC stands by Generations:TheLegacy despite the mass exodus of actors over the past two months.
Since July this year, viewers have watched characters come and go on the soapie.
So far actors Denise Zimba, Asanda Foji, Mutodi Nesheshe, Nkululeko Tshirumbula, Lebohang Mthunzi and J.T Medupe have been cut out of the soapie.
While this may send off alarm bells in the minds of viewers, Generations' producers say there's no need for panic.
Speaking to The Juice last week, Generations spokesperson Gaaratwe Mokhethi says that the recent changes are part of a wider change in story line.
She explained that new actors will be brought onto the soapie over the next few months, to take up roles as 'Jack Mabaso's' family members.
SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago explained that the public broadcaster is not concerned, and that they accept producer's decisions to change story lines.
"The only time the SABC will be concerned is if audience ratings are affected. The SABC has no knowledge of the contract agreements between actors and the production company, as we have no dealings with the way actors are managed," he explained.
Kaizer added that so far, they are happy with the show's ratings.
"So far, so good. Generations is still the number one watched soapie in the country," he added.
