Johannesburg - TV personality Sade Giliberti is loving life in her new home in London - but it wasn't always like that.
Sade made the decision to emigrate to the UK earlier this year (more on that here). Now, she has opened up about her first few months in the UK on her personal blog this week, revealing that her first few weeks in the big city brought doubts, fear, anxiety and a little bit of homesickness.
"Settling in in London has been hard; I’m not even going to lie about it. In the first few months I questioned whether I had made a mistake or not. I missed my friends, my father, my dog, I even missed being able to just get into my car and go for a drive," she says.
"Besides missing all these things, after a while that itty bitty bit of self-doubt started to kick in - the kind that makes you feel like you did just the stupidest thing," she adds.
Sade says the reason for her anxiety was that she had left a "cushy life in SA" to moved to the UK "with a blank canvas".
"I left a 'cushy' life in SA to come hustle like a mad beast in a new country. No hand outs. Just me and all my experience, a showreel on a website and a few business cards. (AND...GO!) I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it, and that's exactly what I am doing," she adds.
