Senzo's children will get R2m from his insurance payout

Cape Town - PSL chairperson Irvin Khoza announced that R4m has been received from Senzo Meyiwa’s insurance payout, Sport24 reported.

According to Soccer Laduma, Orlando Pirates claimed R2m of the payout following Meyiwa's tragic death in late 2014.

The other R2m will be paid out to Meyiwa’s children.

Khoza said at a press conference on Wednesday that the Buccaneers will not deduct any money which was spent on the goalkeeper’s funeral.

PSL players and officials are covered by the league for injuries and untimely death.

Meyiwa was murdered during a reported robbery at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s mother’s house in Vosloorus on 26 October 2014.

The South Africa Football Players Union general secretary, Thulaganyo Gaoshubelwe, explained that everything is being done in order for the families to receive the money.
