Johannesburg - Musician Slikour has spoken out about the guilty verdict given to Sindisiwe Manqele in the Randburg Magistrate court on Wednesday afternoon. Judge Solly Sithole found Manqele guilty of murdering her then boyfriend, Nkululeko 'Flabba' Habedi.
Flabba was stabbed in his Alexandra house on 9 March. During the trial, Manqele testified that she stabbed him in self-defence, claiming that he had attacked her and she retaliated. At the time, sources told The Juice that the couple had been having problems and had broken up just prior to the incident, with friends admitting that Flabba had told them their relationship was on the rocks.
Slikour detailed how Flabba's younger brother called to tell him the news, saying he still struggles when he hears reports of 'the late Flabba.' He says he hopes the verdict has provided some comfort for friends and family of the Skwatta Kamp member. "He was a son, a brother, a father and a a friend. Nothing will bring him back, but hopefully the verdict will bring some comfort to everybody affected."
Upon hearing the verdict, Flabba's family who were present in court, left crying. Sources close to the family say it has been an emotional journey for them and they wanted closure before the start of the festive season.
At the time of publishing this article, sentencing arrangements had not yet been made.
